Interviews Video

One of the most critical parts in journalism has to do with conducting an interview, whether you’re using a tape recorder, are on live television, or filming the subject to edit for a package later. Your interview setup is important including the background that you’re conducting the interview in, the audio, lighting, composition, and even the natural sound in the area. The best interviews have these quality video practices and that’s what we were tasked with for this assignment.

For our “Interviews Video,” the goal was to have at least ten cuts or more of a subject reciting the lyrics to a song or poem in at least five different locations. For my interview, I used my mother, Natasha Reynolds, and she recited or sang the first few verses of Psalms 100 the evening of Oct. 26, 2021. In the video, I filmed her singing in five different areas at the playground as my brother played. Below shows screenshots of the five interview locations and the video for the assignment.
